Notes (on a certain Silliman assumption)

The conflation of aesthetic radicalism & political radicalism is entirely natural -- generally they hang out together, since both speak breaking free of conformity, loosening up & CHANGE -- but not necessarily need this be so. In times of increasing pluralism & fragmentation -- with the growth of the human population, the pool of talented creators is that much larger, for one thing -- we're bound to have aesthetically freewheeling hidebound conservatives and other such bundles of seeming contradictions among our ranks.
