Good News

It seems a prose poem of mine is forthcoming in this September's Geez Magazine. The poetry editor of that review, Maurice Mierau, heard me read it at the last Canadian League of Poets' AGM/Poetry Fest, and invited me to send it in. (Maurice is also the current League president.) As for the review, I had never heard of it. It's a new review, but looks quite creditable. It recently won the Best New Publication and Best Magazine -- Manitoba in the Western Magazine Awards . It has a subscription base of about 1,500, a third of those in the States. A left-leaning Christian journal, it concerns itself with social justice, anti-consumerism & the like, appeals to all those of a progressive & spiritual orientation (should I put scare quotes around those words?), including athiests/agnostics, of which Maurice counts himself one. Apparently one of the editors used to edit Adbusters. The poem is definitely political, so I'm happy it's found a home before becoming "overdue".
