That day has been on everyone's minds, including mine. Going around blogs, I see plenty of images of twin towers. Although the conspiracy theories are as dubious as they are strangely appealing, there is one possibility in which I have little doubt: that Bush et al may have deliberately turned a blind eye to the abundant evidence that an event of this magnitude would happen, because they were just waiting to pounce on the opportunities afforded by a new state of high alert. After such a massive show of incompetence, they sure had their contingency plans ready, and the enormous interests of the militarist right were extremely well served by them. When one thinks of the victims and their families -- well, it is beyond all thinking.
